12,000 Sq ft. area given by Maldives for the construction of Pakistan’s new embassy in the country.

Male – On 15th of June, 2020 the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over documents regarding granting of a 12,000 Square Feet plot to Pakistan’s high commissioner in Hulhumale Island’s diplomatic enclave, Maldives.

In a ceremony, Maldives Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid handed over the documentations to the current Pakistan’s High Commissioner Ather Mukhtar.

Initially, the plot size was kept to be 3,000 Square Feet, however upon Pakistan’s request owing to the requirements of Pakistani mission in the Maldives, the current plot size has been upgraded to 12,000 Square Feet.

Male, the capitol of Maldives is congested due to the growing population. Over the years, the Urban planners of Maldives are working to ensure city’s congestion is being treated. Thus, development plans for new islands is currently underway.
