Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor selects first-ever Pakistani artists as its Member.

TORONTO: In a first-ever move, Pakistani watercolor artist known as Dr. Ghulam Shabbier gets selected as a member of board for the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. So far no Pakistani has ever acquired this position.

Dr. Ghulam Shabbier, who runs a page on facebook by the name of Dr Ghulam Shabbier is recognized by many in the Pakistani painters and artists circle. He announced his selection in a post on his page:

Alhamdollilah. I am humbled and thankful to the Canadian society.

The work of Dr. Ghulam allows the exploration of narrow and old streets of Lahore, and other parts of Pakistan to be explored. His drawing language helps to reconstruct the streets and spaces which every Pakistani visits or sees on a day-to-day basis but forgets to compliment the little beauty that’s hidden in them.

Thus, the work of Dr. Ghulam stands out. No wonder, despite many watercolor artists in Pakistan, he is the only one to get selected to a such designated seat within the international circle of artists. His membership is good news for the little to less known Artist community of Pakistan.
