Virgin Atlantic, one of the most famous names in Aviation and Air travel is all set to start three different routes to Pakistan starting this December 2020. The move comes after the British Airways resumes flights to Pakistan owing to the improvement of Law and Order.
The United Kingdom is the top destination for Pakistani expats, migrants, and students. Thus seeing the potential there is, Virgin Atlantic looks forward to establishing routes in and out of Pakistan to the UK.
The proposal of the routes so far includes Manchester to Lahore, Manchester to Islamabad, London Heathrow to Lahore, London Heathrow to Islamabad, and London Heathrow to Karachi.
According to Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic: “Pakistan presents us an extremely exciting opportunity – as it boasts one of the largest expat community in the US and UK.”
While there definitely are challenges considering the COVID-19 Pandemic, and British Airways already has established a strong market in Pakistan. However, the entry of such multi-national airlines suggests that the Pakistani market holds a tremendous amount of potential.
